It’s not every day that I share recipes with you guys but every once in a while I need to share my absolute favorites. For a time, I used to make these every Sunday for the whole family and it was always a hit! I like baking from scratch and this combo is one of my absolute favorite breakfast or brunch meals. So here’s my recipe for homemade waffles with cinnamon butter and apples.

Personal Backstory
I’m no chef but I like to share my favorites. A few years ago we discovered a great breakfast spot but when they shut down I needed my waffles fix. So I found cinnamon chips and they absolutely changed my life, which I admit sounds insane.
Now, I have an ongoing battle to find them in my area all year round so I resort to buying them on Amazon. And I make cinnamon chip muffins with them all the time- YUM!

Just one of the ways we like to make it fun for the kids!
It's All In The Ingredients
So you’re probably thinking, what makes this girl’s homemade waffles recipe so special? Well, it’s not just the waffle but the toppings and how you eat them of course!
Like I said, the cinnamon chips make a huge difference. But if you can’t find them, and I can’t always get them, then definitely get some quality chocolate chips when it’s off-season.
Then you’ll need apples, cinnamon, and some homemade cinnamon butter, and let me tell you- it’s so worth it!
Once your waffles are ready, spread the cinnamon butter first and then top them with the apples. Trust me, you’ll love it!

Finding The Right Waffle Iron
I highly recommend investing in a great waffle iron. There are so many out there as well as a range of sizes and price points.
I recently tried out the Dash Mini Waffle Iron and it’s so stinking cute and makes adorable and yummy waffles.
I’ve also had experience with the Cuisinart WAF-V100 Waffle Iron, which made some of the best and crispiest homemade waffles! But we encountered a few minor issues with it being a vertical waffle iron. Such as larger chips getting clogged, the occasional not-so-perfect edge, and the fact that it’s not ideal as a sandwich press. Other than that, it’s an amazing waffle maker.
And of course, there’s one of the most highly-rated Cuisinart WAF-F20P1 Waffle Iron for commercial. Which makes two perfect Belgian waffles at once and has a flipping mechanism. Or the single version, the Cuisinart WAF-F10P1 Waffle Iron.
All of these have a nonstick coating and are very easy to clean.
Homemade Waffles Recipe with Cinnamon Butter and Apples
The moment has come for me to share with you my favorite homemade waffles with cinnamon butter and apples.
Below you will see the recipe for each of the three components. Prepare the cinnamon butter first and leave it to cool overnight in the fridge or put it in the freezer for at least 30 minutes. Prepare the apples and waffles simultaneously, depending on your serving size.
Cinnamon butter leftovers can be frozen or refrigerated. Waffle batter can also be refrigerated for a few days.

Cinnamon Apples

- Cook apple cubes in a saucepan at medium heat.
- Add water based on consistency preference.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon and sugar and mix.
Notes
For softer consistency: peel apples, add more water, and cook longer.
For crunchier consistency: cook unpeeled apples, add little to no water, and cook for a short time.
