As a human being, we all need to stay fit. As a mom, who birthed two children, I gained some weight that I’m working on losing. Having the right type of clothing for working out is ideal. My favorites are leggings and comfortable and flexible shoes, and I use these ALL the time, not just to work out.
Activewear is so comfortable and adaptable that it has become my everyday mom-wear.
I wear it at home, I wear it to Zumba classes, I wear it to the playground, and I especially wear it to go to the Zoo (because it’s super humid here and I don’t want chaffing).
I completely fell in love with the Nike Free series several years ago and more recently with their Flyknit shoes as well. The ‘Free’ shoes are great because their soles have so many slits, making them extremely flexible and springy to the step. The ‘Flyknit’ styles are made of a different stretchy fabric that make the shoes extremely elastic. People compare the Flyknits to socks or wearing a glove.
Us moms have to stand and walk a lot so having the right shoes is great, not only for working out, but for everyday.
I’ve recently purchased some leggings from the Calvin Klein collection and they’re super comfortable and durable, some of them even have pockets! I’m in love with the patterns and hoping to buy a bunch more.
Leggings are my go-to for any workout, any long sunny and sweaty day (like going to the zoo or the playground), and even for an average comfortable day while still looking like I’m not in my PJs.
Personally, I love colorful patterns for leggings and solid colors for tops, but you’ll find everything out there because its a massive market.
The great thing about wearing active leggings is that you can pretty much rock any casual shirt with it. You can stick with the active look or wear some cool mom printed tops.
