My Review

I have two sets of both of these mats in these exact colors in my kids’ rooms and I love them. We have hard floors at our house so we needed something thick and solid for protection. My kids are now toddlers and I still find them entirely useful, in fact I’m not sure how old they’ll be when I do decide to change them because we like them so much and they add to the decor.

Our kids’ bedrooms are pretty spacious so we got two sets in each room to cover the majority of the floor space and not have to worry about any floor related injuries. What’s great about them is that they can be assembled in many shapes, for example, in a rectangle, square, or even wider in some areas than others. As my kids grow up and I rearrange the things in their rooms, I tend to reassemble the floor tiles accordingly. For example, when we upgraded our 2 year old’s crib to a crib rail, we reassembled the tiles to have a section of coverage just under the bed in case he fell out. I also moved all of them from one room into my living room once for a party and it was great! And since they come in different colors and shapes there are many ways of assembling patterns.

The kids occasionally try to remove the connectors or some of the edge pieces but they’re not as easy to take apart or as flimsy as some others I’ve seen. They are fairly easy to clean with just wiping them down. Some people even wash them in the bathtub or put them for a quick rinse cycle in the washing machine, which I recently tried and it worked pretty well, with a little bending of some pieces but I was able to easily bend back.

This is a great baby product! It’s a nightlight, sound monitor, and a star projector all in one. My daughter loves this thing!

I got this for my second child but wished I had something like this for my first when he was born.

I was worried that bringing a newborn home I would be up all night with the baby and never have enough energy for my toddler. So I wanted something to help get baby relaxed, also it would be better than turning any bright lights on during night feedings or diaper changes.

From day 1 of bringing baby #2 home I used this on my nightstand every time I nursed and put baby down to sleep. The back of the owl has several buttons for adjusting the different sounds, volume, light strength or turning it off, as well as turning on/off the star projector, which can be adjusted above.

My daughter fell in love with it, she’s a toddler now and we still put it on for her during nap time and bedtime. We lay her in her crib awake and she stares peacefully at the stars above her until she dozes off!

My son, who’s a year older, is jealous of her nightlight and wants his own to this day! Even as toddlers now, they find this nightlight fascinating.

We take it with us on every vacation, its not too big and can be plugged in anywhere.

Nest Indoor Camera- Great as Baby Monitor

Looking for a security camera or a great Baby Monitor Camera that you can view from your phone? This one comes highly recommended!! And it’s currently on sale!

Find the Nest Cam Indoor on Amazon

How it Works

It works via powered outlet and Wi-Fi so you can install it anywhere, you just plug it in and connect it to the internet over the Nest App. You can manually tilt it, turn it, move it to a different spot and it will work just fine as long as its indoor. It comes with a magnetic mounting base so you can easily mount it onto furniture or a wall or just loosely place it there and it will stay. You get a live feed of the camera on the App, which you can connect to any device (phone, tablet) and if you’re checking on the computer you can go to the website. You can have the App send you notifications of motions and sounds, it will even tell you if it picks up a dog barking! And the resolution is amazing, its crisp and colorful at 1080p HD. It even adjusts to night view so you can keep a close look. Once in live view you can setup which zoom preferences you have and set them to adjust the resolution to that. The camera also picks up live audio and if your device has a microphone, which it should, then you can talk back. Additionally, with a Nest Aware subscription you can also have the camera record your feed 24/7 for up to 10 days onto their cloud for $10/month per camera (and they have different options).

How I've Used It

I have two of these and I use them as baby monitors in my kids rooms since they were born. When we first got each camera we enjoyed the free trial of Nest Aware but did not find it necessary until our son was having some rough nights falling off his toddler bed and later with an insistent night time cough so we subscribed one of our cameras to Nest Aware. Sometimes I switch my kids cameras so I can record either one when necessary to avoid paying for two subscriptions. We love it this way.

We love the App, we have both camera views on the home screen simultaneously along with our thermostat. We open each one to check more closely on each child and sometimes use the microphone to either calm them down or tell them to go to sleep, my oldest often gets out of bed instead of trying to sleep at nap time. I’m often on the computer after putting my kids down for their naps so I tend to leave a window open with their camera views on the Nest Website, again often reminding my oldest to go back to bed. I like to set up the cameras in my kids rooms completely zoomed out so that I can keep an eye on them while they play without me being with them as well, this way I can walk away for a few minutes to do laundry, prepare a meal, or even just to use the bathroom. Its also something I check once or twice when we go out and have someone watch the kids.

You can find the Nest Learning Thermostat on Amazon

For the December holidays last year we took a family vacation for a couple of weeks and left our recording camera in the living room for security, and could even check on our pool and lawn maintenance through the window, as well as witness a raccoon enter our pool for a leisurely swim. We took the other camera with us and installed it in the room where we were staying so we could keep an eye on the kids during nap and bedtime, as well as on our dog while we were out during the day. That’s how awesomely versatile this camera is!

nest cam multi room view
This is a Night View of my daughter sleeping. Her camera is placed in the center of the room so that we can mostly monitor playing and occasionally sleeping. As you can see it is very crisp and clear even at night, even though she is on the far end of the camera view.
The camera has amazing Zoom Quality Capabilities

Ingenuity Toddler Booster Seat

Looking for a Dining Table Booster Seat? This one is great! And it’s available in multiple colors in varying prices.

Ingenuity Toddler Booster Seat

This is the second booster seat we’ve purchased for our children. There are a few out there that look similar and probably work equally well. The reason we needed to buy this one is because we have two toddlers, and now that our youngest could be transitioned from high chair to the table with us we needed a second booster. We chose to get a different one than the one we already have because our tabletop is thick and our 2 year old likes to sit with his knees up and it was up against the bottom of the table.

This chair is the perfect height for our older toddler, although could work just as well with our younger one. We love how easy it is to install and how simple and small it is, I often take the kids for lunch at their grandparent’s house and I bring their booster seats to keep them safely attached to their chairs and comfortable enough to eat at the right height. It has two adjustable straps, one around the back and one around the bottom of your chair, to keep it attached. The seat itself has a 3 point buckle, which my toddler now puts on himself.

It is also very easy to clean. The cushion part of the seat comes off very easily for any needed cleaning but just a little wiping does the trick.

I highly recommend this chair!

WubbaNub Infant Pacifier

I also recommend the pacifier without plush animal: Philips Avent Soothie

WubbaNub offers various different plush animals for these pacifiers within each of their collections.

I got one of these when our first baby was born and once we realized how great it was we ended up getting two more to have around the house and on the go.

We had a couple of pacifiers without the plush animal but we realized that it helped keep the pacifier up in place while our baby laid down, which may sound silly until you have a baby that can’t move and finally falls asleep with their pacifier and then wakes up crying because it fell out.

Our second child also enjoyed these since the newborn stage up til now at 18 months old.

For a while, we would have the three pacifiers spread between the backpack, crib, and living room.

Then we kept all of them in her crib for her to soothe herself back to sleep if and when she woke up in the middle of the night.

She actually has a favorite, the elephant, because she likes to hold it by the ears.

Skip Hop Forma Diaper Backpack

I got the gray version of this backpack when I was expecting my first child. I loved it!!!

I was never a side bag kind of girl and I felt like it would be difficult, painful, and maybe even dangerous to be carrying around an infant and having a bag hang off my shoulder.

Even without carrying a child, when you carry a heavy side bag you start to arch your body to one side to balance it. I would be suffering from back pain just from carrying the bag.

I would imagine myself trying to hold my child and a side bag while reaching for something in the bag or the bag falling off my shoulder and losing grip of my child, it would be a mess!

And with side bags, the storage is all vertical, things get stacked up on each other and lost. Whereas a backpack has more lateral space and can store a little more while being more easily accessible.

The material is waterproof and extremely lightweight, drastically lighter than just about any diaper bag.

It comes with two removable pouches, which they call the insulated cube and the mesh cube, intended for bottle cold storage and fabrics storage.

These rectangular “cubes” can be used for anything, I removed them from my bag and keep the diapers in that section of the bag and instead use them for carrying snacks or certain things depending on my day.

I also love that it has a pocket on each side for bottle storage, one for each of my kids.

I use this backpack every day to carry for two children and myself, it is my purse when I go out with the kids. I really love this thing! I can fit everything we need on an average day.

An added benefit is that its not too feminine either, so my husband can feel comfortable using the same bag when we go out together or if he goes anywhere alone with the kids .

Munchkin White Hot Infant Safety Spoons

These were the first kind of baby spoons I got and I love them.

I will admit the first set I bought lost some of their color but I bought a second set over a year ago and they still look new.

They have a white hot system, meaning the spoon turns white when food is too hot to serve to a baby. It works pretty well, no more sticking fingers in your child’s food for temperature testing.

I still occasionally use these spoons because they’re small and sturdy, they’re not ideal for liquids but they’re perfect for thick purees, applesauce, or yogurt for tiny mouths or babies/toddlers who don’t open their mouths.

I also like they length of them because it makes it easier to control.

They are “top rack” dishwasher safe but I’ve recently washed mine in the cutlery rack (on the bottom) and have had no issues or discoloration.

You’ve probably seen these quite a bit because they’re very popular. If you haven’t they’re worth checking out!

It might take your child a little time to learn how to use these but they’re perfect because they’re real cups for toddlers.

I have multiple of the 7 oz training cups (with the handles) and a couple of the 10 oz cups at home for my two kids. They don’t use any other cup!

My son figured out how to use it around 7 months old with only a couple attempts. My daughter, who nursed longer, got the hang of it a little later around 13 months with months of struggling.

They’re so efficient because they’re sippy cups but to drink from them you sip just like you do a regular cup, anywhere around the edge (hence 360), and it doesn’t spill!

If you throw it down hard, a little will spill out but it will not break easily. If you hold it up and flip it around, nothing will spill out unless its defective or not closed properly.

This cup is not only dentist approved, as opposed to cups with spouts or straws, but once your child reaches an age that they can control an open cup on their own the transition will be much easier.

There are so many reports of mold build-up within the tiny pieces from baby bottles and sippy cups, which are impossible to clean. This one made life easier!

They’re so easy to disassemble and, because there’s no spout, its very easy to clean without the concern of mold.

If you start to see mold build up its because you haven’t removed and cleaned the silicone ring that makes the cup spill proof- I didn’t realize this at first.

They’re also dishwasher safe so if you’re like me and don’t always have the time to be hand washing after every use, get a couple extra ones and put them in the dishwasher!

The only down side to these cups is their popularity, you might get them mixed up when around other kids.

Gerber Graduates Cutlery

I have gone through a few different kinds of spoons for my kids.

After not liking the results of some of my previous purchases, I got this assorted set and a spoon set first, thinking maybe this wouldn’t be a great option for a first time user but for down the road.

I think because I was still experimenting and finding the right utensils for my son it took him a little while to get the hang of it and I was scared of him forking himself in the eye so I probably didn’t fully allow him to learn- that’s on me.

After a little while though, he got to using these perfectly and I ended up buying a bunch more so I didn’t have to hand wash them all the time since they can go in the dishwasher.

Now that my daughter is starting to want to use utensils on her own and sees her brother using these, I let her try, and she loves them!

Spoons are obviously pretty tricky, but depending on what food you give them some of it will end up on her ezpz mat or her oxo bib pocket.

The handle is perfect for those toddler hands and the metal of the forks actually allows you to grab food, unlike some plastic ones I regretted buying.

And probably one of the best parts is that, when rested on the table, the metal of the utensils don’t get your surface dirty.

ez-pz Happy Mats

My personal review of ez-pz Happy Mats.
I wrote this because I highly recommend this product, and although I may get a commission from your clicks, I wrote this review out of my own intent to help others find good products.

Disclosure: I have included some affiliate links throughout this post. At no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase.

Now that our youngest is growing up a little more we moved her from the highchair to the dining table with the rest of us and needed a decent placemat for her.

We had a silicone placemat for our son but he was always removing it when his plate wasn’t on top or shifting it around and spilling crumbs all over the place (which we can’t have our dog eating).

I’ve seen the ez-pz mats in store several times but the price always geared me away and I didn’t love the idea of the plate being the mat itself. We couldn’t find a decent silicone mat and, seeing the amount of popularity with this one, we decided to give it a shot for our daughter.

After a couple days of using it, and our son showing a few signs of jealousy, we got him one too because honestly, its pretty fantastic!

It really sticks to the table!!! We have a wood table with inset grains so its not as effective as it could be, but its a million times better than the mat we had before. When I put it on the counter, which is perfectly flat and smooth, I have a hard time removing it.

I will admit that, because of my table at least, my kids can shift the mat a tiny bit but I am so much happier with a tiny shift rather than spilling things everywhere.

I like the size of this particular one too because toddlers get their hands dirty when they eat and those hands go at arms reach all over the table. The width of this mat covers the majority of that.

Also the majority of the mess kids usually spill over their plate from those fine motor skills of using utensils stays within the area of the mat.

This thing is super easy to clean too. I don’t normally like to hand wash things but I don’t mind washing these between meals. I turn my dishwasher on every night so in they go without any issues!

Maybe once my kiddos get a hang of eating things like soup on their own I’ll invest in some of the Happy Bowl mats and be able to eliminate some of the plates and bowls I had purchased in the past to make some room in my kitchen drawers.

SaveSave

These are my kids finishing lunch off their mats without needing a tablecloth to cover our expensive and beautiful table (we’re the odd parents that actually try to have nice things).

And yes, I did have to build a wall of cheerios between them because instead of eating they decided to get along and be silly- mother of multiples problems!

We purchased this playard a few years ago when we were expecting our first son, recently the 4moms company released new versions of their playards that are a bit smaller.

This playard is a simpler version than the other kinds out in the market but it was designed to be extremely easy to assemble- and it really is!

Its surrounding mesh is durable yet perfectly transparent so I could keep an eye on my kids.

I used this in the house when I needed to cook and my baby was too big for a rocker or wanted to be nearby. I also used it as a temporary crib in my room prior to moving my baby to sleep in her own room around 3 months old, and then again before she could crawl and I needed to cook.

My two kids fit in it with plenty of room for toys.

It was perfect for the few vacations we took and didn’t take up a ton of space in the trunk of the car.

It comes with a bassinet insert, the bassinet pad, crib pad, and carrying case for the entire thing.

Assembling was as easy as setting it down on the floor and opening it by pushing down the center handle with one hand, or closing it back up by pulling the same handle. And packing it up wasn’t complicated either.

Dinosaur 72 piece Puzzle 14" x 19"

We got this for our son just last week because he has recently come to love doing jigsaw puzzles and need something a little more difficult than the usual toddler ones.

This set is aged for 6 years and up with 72 pieces.

We thought it would be too much for him and that it would take him a good deal of time. Turns out it was perfect and just what he needed.

The pieces are unbelievably well made!

I put it together myself to try it out (also because I love puzzles) and these pieces are durable for toddlers because they are made of a chunky board.

The image quality is also fantastic, very colorful.

The graphics are also very appealing and makes it easier to assemble (no solid colored pieces).

The puzzle also comes in a cool box to store the puzzle pieces.

We have purchased more puzzles from this company since because they’re such great quality! They sell various different kinds and sizes for different ages.

This particular set is sold with 2 chairs but it is also available with 3.

We got this as a gift from the grandparents and it was just what the kids needed!

It is the perfect height for toddlers and its not a bulky piece of furniture like most toddler products.

Its very sturdy, I sit on the chairs all the time.

I haven’t done any DIY’s on our set but its perfect for turning into a chalk table or lego table- you can find these ideas all over the internet or, may personal favorite, Pinterest.

This set can be used for mealtimes as well.

The set is pretty lightweight, I can easily pick up the table and chairs to relocate it.

My kids love to sit at the table together and do board puzzles, flip through books, or build with legos.

They also love to pull out the chairs to pretend to be storytellers doing storytime.

We got this kitchenette for our kids as a Christmas gift and they love it!

It comes with everything you see in the picture.

Just about all of it is made of wood and it comes in a compact package ready to be assembled.

This is ideal height for young toddlers but any toddler would enjoy.

The oven can be opened, the knobs turn and making clicking sounds, the clock can be adjusted, and the metal sink bowl can be removed.

It has a cute modern look that we were looking for and is compact enough to not take up too much space in the house but large enough that two kids can play side by side even though a bit tight.

My son is always “making” me muffins and “preparing” lunch for me. And my daughter, who doesn’t narrate her life yet, is also always going to and from the kitchen to offer me things.

I’m IN LOVE with these bibs!

I was struggling with the kinds I had originally purchased for my child. He would pull on the bib and it would tear right off and I would end up buying a new bib.

I know a lot of moms give up on bibs but these really keep your kids clean.

I ended up purchasing the 2 pack set from Amazon after having my second kid and I wish I had gotten it sooner, it made feeding so much easier!!!

My youngest was just starting to eat messy purees that would end up spilling all over and my toddler was getting the hang of using utensils and spilling food all over the floor.

These bibs catch everything, are super easy to clean, are very comfortable and durable (the velcro actually works and my kid doesn’t tear it off!!).

They’re also perfect for on-the-go because they fold up easily. Sometimes I even store utensils inside the bib when folded up.

Feeding children in restaurants is a bit more complicated because they grab everything on the dirty tables and chairs and then contaminate their mouths. Restaurant tableware is a no-no because its all breakable, not slip-proof, and usually too high for them to reach their food.

I often use the silicone pocket as a surface for their food- no need for a plate or eating off the table (because they drop their plates anyway).

These are also ideal for all feeding stages, they fit on both babies and toddlers.

After mealtime, I just clean the bib off with a wipe and its perfectly clean!

I purchased this over a year ago for my almost 2 year old, he was fascinated! Whenever he sees me clean something he goes to get his own cleaning set and I ask him to take care of certain areas around the house and he gets all excited.

The set comes with a brush, cloth, sponge, a powder container, spray bottle (which if filled might actually work), a soap bottle, squeegee and even a little cleaning checklist inside the caddy.

The materials are all durable and the spray bottle, soap bottle and powder container can be opened.

My son likes to use the brush all over the house, especially for our hair and it is soft enough that we just go with it. Even a year later he still loves it, sometimes he even “cleans” his room!

It’s a great toy for toddlers that teaches and encourages cleaning while making it fun. It was the perfect solution for me when my kids would get in the way of me trying to clean the house because now they can feel included without actually using my cleaning products.
