Last week I shared my latest interest in the book “Always Eat After 7 PM” as part of a month-long journey. This week I’m diving in to explain a little bit more about the author, Joel Marion, and why this book and diet have captured my interest.

If you missed last week’s post, you can find it here.

Captured My Interest

I’ve grown up in a culture where our ‘dinner’ consisted of a small snack and had to adapt to the American culture of dinner. I was raised on the notion that eating a large meal at the end of the day was bad for your body.

As I grew up, I started to realize my headaches were often the cause of a lack of food. I would find myself snacking on unhealthy foods before and after ‘dinner’ rather than having a real and filling dinner.

The most challenging times to curb hunger are just before bed and in the morning. By following the Always Eat After 7PM program, you have the most willpower to stay on the diet because you are eating during the hours when you are most hungry. This also puts you into both intermittent fasting increasing testosterone and your metabolism, while putting you into ketosis.

Joel Marion’s logic for Always Eat After 7 PM makes perfect sense to me now.

“Late-night eating also curbs calorie intake the next day. In a four-week study, dieters added a snack to their daily regimen 90 minutes after dinner every night, and check this out: late-night eaters ate an average of 397 fewer calories per day.”

Author Q&A

Q: How long did it take for you to develop the diet?

A: It actually took several years of researching for me to discover the real science of eating late night. After a few years of tweaking and refining, I finally came up with a rapid fat loss solution that overcomes all the pitfalls of traditional diets.

Q: What was the most surprising discovery when you were researching scientific data for the diet?

A: That almost everything my college education and certifications taught me was NOT grounded in published scientific research.

Reaching My Goals

We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal.

Instead of avoiding dinners, feeling hungry all night, and waking up tired, I can eat the right meals based on the time of day. In turn, I will create lean muscle while I sleep, reduce the need for unnecessary snacking, and gain more energy overnight.
